Brainwashing 201 Named Best Short at Liberty
We are honored to announce that Brainwashing 201: The Second Semester was selected as the Best Short Film of 2005 by the jurors of the Liberty Film Festival. This year, Liberty awarded prizes for submitted films in only two categories, Best Short and Best Feature, so it was quite flattering to have been selected. Although there are no plans to release Brainwashing 201 as a stand-alone film, much of the material will be included in the upcoming feature-length film Indoctrinate U, which we hope to complete in early 2006.

We Now Turn our Cameras to Health Care Policy
"National Health Insurance" - "A Single-Payer System" - "Taking the profit out of health care ... " - there certainly are a lot of euphemisms these days for the idea of a government-run, socialized medical system - like the one in Canada.

So - at the end of 2004, we decided to pack our bags and head north of the 49th parallel to talk to Canadians about their health care system. From Toronto to Vancouver to Montreal to Calgary and Ottawa - we talked to a lot of Canadians - and we got an earfull!
The result? Dead Meat, a 25 minute film that attempts to answer the age-old question:
Should we turn over our medical system to the people who run Amtrak and the Post Office?
Co-director Blaine Greenberg and I are making a new feature-length film about health care slated for release in late 2006. As an interim offering, we have produced this short film which can be viewed on-line, in its entirety here. It will also premier on the big screen at the Liberty Film Festival in West Hollywood, CA on Oct 21, 2005. We hope you enjoy it!

Brainwashing 201: The Second Semester
At the Liberty Film Festival in Los Angeles later this month, On The Fence Films will be premiering our new short film, Brainwashing 201: The Second Semester, on opening night (Friday, October 21st).
This film, an interim release before our feature-length Indoctrinate U is complete, contains new footage chronicling more outrages within higher education. People with high blood pressure or heart problems may wish to consult a physician prior to viewing.
Note that we do not currently plan on releasing Brainwashing 201 online, so the Liberty Film Festival may be your only chance to see it.
Update: We're pleased to announce that Brainwashing 201 received the award for "Best Short Film of 2005" at the Liberty Film Festival!
